The below application deadlines apply:

  • Non-Canadian citizens: January 10

  • Canadian citizens/permanent residents of Canada: April 1

  • Current McGill students (any citizenship): April 1

At McGill University, the joint Ph.D. students must be accepted in the Department of Human Genetics. The joint Ph.D. program accepts applications for the Summer term (see deadlines above). Applications submitted after these deadlines will be considered if invited, or if a suitable supervisor can be secured.

Funding / Stipend opportunities!

Students admitted to the joint Ph.D. program will be eligible for tuition fee waivers at both Universities. A number of stipends are available for students entering the Department of Human Genetics at McGill University. If the student does not obtain one of these, the basic stipend must be provided supervisor (at McGill University) or from another source. The program will provide McGill-based students with additional financial support for living expenses, housing and travel for periods of stay in Kyoto.
